On Friday, June 25th the Grant Park Conservancy teamed up with Columbia College's High School Summer Institute Program to "dress" the 26 statues of the Borders Installation. The concept was to pay homage to Borders artist Steinunn Thórarinsdóttir's native country of Iceland, known as the land of ice and fire. The red and blue garments, swaying gently in the breeze, further humanized the figures and brought them to life. Over 300 people passed through the pop-up fashion installation in the Solti Garden where everyone had a smile on and their camera out! More photos are available on the Grant Park Conservancy's Facebook Page. A big thank you to Columbia College and the young fashion designers.
